Materials Management Education
Structure for Support helps businesses improve their knowledge base by providing education and training resources in the field of Materials Management.
Education
An organization that understands the fundamental concepts of Materials Planning is well situated to have an overall Supply Chain that is effective and efficient, where people understand their roles and how they support the overall goals of the organization.
I teach courses that have been developed and are made available by APICS - The Association for Operations Management. Specifically, I teach the five courses corresponding to each of the five modules in the APICS CPIM Certification Program. Together, these courses provide an in-depth introduction to all of the important concepts in the area of Production and Inventory Management. In addition, they are an excellent (though not complete) preparation for the APICS CPIM Certification Examinations.
Having earned CPIM from APICS at the Fellow level, and with many years experience as both a practitioner and educator in the field of Materials Management, I am uniquely qualified to present these courses to your organization.
Training
One way to distinguish training from education is to look at education as dealing with concepts and practices that are common to many or most companies, whereas training is about local concepts and practices: how a function is organized and performed in your company and your department. Schools, professional organizations and consultants can provide education, but only you can provide training.
I can help your company design an effective Materials Management Development Program, one which:
For many years, I was responsible for education, training and development in Materials Management for a multi-billion dollar corporation. Together we can tailor a program to meet your unique requirements.
